The short version
- Our apps contain no advertising, no third-party analytics and no tracking across other companies’ apps or websites.
- The parts of our apps that children use collect no personal information. What a child does in them stays on the device.
- We never sell personal information or share it for advertising.
- In Terra Montessori, only the Montessori Guide, a parent feature, sends anything off the device: the question you type, so that an AI model can answer it. We don’t keep those conversations.
- This website uses analytics cookies only if you allow them, and its forms send your message to our team by email.
Who we are
“Nixvora”, “we” and “us” mean Nixvora, the company that publishes the website at nixvora.com and the Nixvora mobile apps. Flyntex is Nixvora’s web development branch. For the purposes of data protection law, we are the controller of the personal information described in this policy.
You can reach us about anything in this policy at info@nixvora.com.
This website
You can browse nixvora.com without telling us who you are.
- Analytics only with your permission. We use Google Analytics only if you choose “Allow analytics” in the cookie banner. There are no advertising pixels, no social media embeds and no tracking across other websites. See Cookies and analytics.
- Self-hosted resources. Fonts, images and scripts are served from our own domain. Unless you allow analytics, loading a page doesn’t contact any other company.
- Hosting. The site is hosted on Amazon Web Services (Amazon S3 and Amazon CloudFront). To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, AWS processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. Where we keep these access logs, we keep them for no longer than 90 days and use them only for security and troubleshooting.
- Forms. When you send a form, the details you enter come to us by email. See Forms on this website.
Forms on this website
Our contact, support, beta and privacy request forms collect only what you type into them:
- Always: your name (except on the privacy request form, where it’s optional), your email address and your message.
- Depending on the form: your organization, a rough budget and timeline, the device and system version you use, the app version, your preferred beta platform, and the kind of request you are making.
When you press send, your browser sends the form to our server on Amazon Web Services (Amazon API Gateway and AWS Lambda), which checks it and uses Amazon Simple Email Service (SES) to deliver it to the right team’s inbox. We also send you a short confirmation email that doesn’t repeat what you wrote. Submissions aren’t stored in a database; they live in our email inboxes for as long as described in How long we keep things.
Our server keeps a technical log of each submission (time, form type, whether it was delivered and the connecting IP address, but not the content) for 30 days to keep the service secure. To keep out spam we use a hidden field and a timing check instead of a third-party CAPTCHA. We use form details only to reply to you and to handle your request, never for marketing unless you ask us to. The forms are intended for adults; children shouldn’t use them.
Cookies and analytics
The first time you visit, a banner asks whether you allow analytics. Until you choose “Allow analytics”, no analytics code is loaded and no analytics cookies are set. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a “no” and don’t show the banner.
If you allow analytics, we use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, to count visits and understand which pages are useful. Google Analytics receives:
- the pages you view, how you arrived (for example, from a search engine) and when;
- your browser, device type, screen size and language;
- your approximate location (country and city), which Google derives from your IP address without storing the address itself;
- that a form was sent, without any of its contents.
Google sets two cookies: _ga and _ga_<ID>, which distinguish visits and expire after up to two years. We have turned off Google signals and ad personalization, so this data isn’t used for advertising. Google processes it as our service provider, and we keep Analytics data for 14 months.
Your choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage (not a cookie). You can change it at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, we stop loading Google Analytics and delete its cookies from your browser.
Our apps in general
These commitments apply to every app we publish. Where an app does something more, it has its own section below.
- No advertising, and no advertising or attribution SDKs.
- No third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. If you choose to share diagnostics with Apple or Google through your device settings, they may share aggregated crash and usage statistics with us under their own privacy policies. These don’t identify you to us.
- No tracking as Apple defines it: we don’t link information from our apps with information from other companies for advertising or measurement, and we don’t share it with data brokers.
- No accounts are needed to use our apps.
- Downloads, payments and app updates are handled by the App Store and Google Play, under Apple’s and Google’s privacy policies. We don’t receive your payment details.
Terra Montessori
Terra Montessori is an educational app for children aged about 3 to 7, with a separate area for parents and caregivers.
The materials children use
The Pink Tower, Red Rods, Color Tablets, Sandpaper Letters, Golden Beads, Moveable Alphabet and the breathing exercise collect no personal information. Specifically:
- Nothing a child does in these materials, including the words they build and the letters they trace, is sent to us or anyone else.
- Activity and settings are kept on the device. Deleting the app removes them.
- The app doesn’t use the microphone, camera, location, contacts or photos.
- Letter sounds and read-aloud use the text-to-speech engine built into your device. The words are spoken by your device’s own speech service, provided by Apple or Google under their terms, and we receive nothing from it.
Progress and the parent area
The progress, parent and settings screens display information that stays on the device. We don’t receive it.
The Montessori Guide
The Guide is a chat feature in the parent area of Terra Montessori. It uses an artificial intelligence (AI) model to answer questions about Montessori materials and child development. It is meant for adults, and it is the only part of Terra Montessori that sends information off the device.
What is sent, and when
- Nothing is sent until you type a question and press Send.
- When you do, the app sends your question, the earlier messages in that conversation and the topic you opened the Guide from (for example, “the Pink Tower”). If a child’s first name or age is shown in the parent area, it may be included so the answer fits; you can use a nickname instead.
- The request travels over an encrypted connection to our server, which forwards it to Anthropic, PBC, the company that provides the AI model (Claude), and returns the answer to the app.
What happens to it
- We don’t store the content of Guide conversations. Our server keeps limited technical logs (time, request size, errors and the connecting IP address) for up to 30 days to keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
- Anthropic processes the conversation on our behalf to generate the answer. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic doesn’t use this content to train its models. It may keep it for a limited period for safety and abuse monitoring, as described in Anthropic’s privacy policy.
- The app doesn’t save conversations either. Closing the Guide clears the conversation.
Please don’t type sensitive details, such as health information or a child’s full name or address, into the Guide. AI answers can be wrong; the Guide offers general educational information, not medical, psychological or professional advice.
Children’s privacy
Our apps are designed with the US Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU and UK GDPR, and the UK Age Appropriate Design Code in mind.
- We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. The child-facing parts of our apps are built so that they can’t send any.
- Features that do send information, such as the Guide, are intended for parents and caregivers and sit in the parent area.
- There are no ads, no in-app chat between users, no public profiles and no links that lead a child out of the app without an adult.
- If you believe a child has sent us personal information, for example by emailing us, contact info@nixvora.com and we will delete it.
When you email us
If you write to us, for support, about a project or for any other reason, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, your message and any attachments or device details you choose to share. We use this only to reply, to help you and to keep a record of our conversation. We don’t add you to mailing lists unless you ask us to.
Flyntex
Flyntex, our web branch, runs its own website at https://flyntex.com. Forms, website audits and client projects handled through flyntex.com are described in the privacy notice published there. Where Flyntex builds a website for a client, the client is responsible for the privacy of their own site’s visitors, and Flyntex acts on the client’s instructions.
Who we share information with
We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t share it for targeted advertising. We use a small number of service providers who process information only on our instructions:
| Provider | What for | Information involved |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon Web Services | Hosting this website, processing and delivering form submissions (API Gateway, Lambda, SES), and running the Guide’s server | Technical request data, form submissions, Guide requests in transit |
| Google LLC | Website analytics, only if you allow it | Pages viewed, device and browser details, approximate location |
| Anthropic, PBC | Generating Guide answers | Guide conversations |
| Our email provider | Our team inboxes | Emails and form submissions you send us |
| Apple and Google | Distributing our apps | As described in their own policies |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect someone’s safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy would continue to apply to it.
Legal bases for processing
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on these legal bases:
- Consent, for website analytics. You can withdraw it at any time with Cookie settings.
- Legitimate interests, to run and secure the website, the form server and the Guide’s server, and to reply to messages and form submissions.
- Performance of a contract, to provide the Guide when you ask it a question, and to deliver work you have engaged us for.
- Legal obligation, where we must keep records or respond to lawful requests.
International transfers
Our service providers, including AWS and Anthropic, may process information in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires it, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
How long we keep things
| Information | How long |
|---|---|
| Activity and settings in our apps | On your device until you delete the app or its data |
| Guide conversation content | Not stored by us; cleared from the app when the Guide closes |
| Guide server technical logs | Up to 30 days |
| Website access logs | Up to 90 days |
| Form server technical logs | 30 days |
| Google Analytics data (if you allowed it) | 14 months |
| Your cookie choice | In your browser until you clear it |
| Emails and form submissions | Up to 24 months after our last exchange, unless needed longer for a legal reason or an ongoing project |
Security
Information sent between our apps, this website and our servers is encrypted in transit using TLS. We limit access to the few people who need it and review our service providers’ security commitments. No system is perfectly secure; if you find a vulnerability, please tell us at info@nixvora.com.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct information that is wrong;
- delete your information;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- send it to you or another company in a portable format.
Because our apps keep data on your device, you can delete most of it yourself by deleting the app. For anything else, email info@nixvora.com or see how to delete your data. We will reply within one month, may need to confirm your identity first, and will never charge you or treat you differently for asking. Parents and guardians can make these requests on behalf of their children.
If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
US state privacy rights
Residents of California and other US states with privacy laws have the right to know, access, correct and delete their personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising. We don’t sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising: Google Analytics runs only with your permission and with its advertising features turned off. We treat a browser Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out and don’t load analytics. In the past 12 months we have collected only the categories described above: identifiers and contact details you give us (such as your name and email address), the content of your messages, and, if you allowed analytics, internet activity on this website.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top. If a change affects how an app handles information, we will explain it in the app’s release notes and, where the law requires, ask for consent before the change applies.
