What children use
The six materials (Pink Tower, Red Rods, Color Tablets, Sandpaper Letters, Golden Beads and Moveable Alphabet) and the breathing exercise work entirely on the device. They don’t collect, store on a server or share any information about your child. Letter sounds and read-aloud are spoken by your device’s built-in text-to-speech engine; the words aren’t sent to us.
Settings and activity shown in the parent area are kept on the device only.
The Montessori Guide
The Guide is an AI chat feature for parents and caregivers in the parent area. It’s the only part of the app that uses the internet.
- When you send a question, the app sends the question, the earlier messages in that conversation and the topic you asked about over an encrypted connection to our server. If a child’s first name or age appears in the parent area, it may be included so the answer fits; a nickname works just as well.
- Our server forwards it to Anthropic, PBC, which runs the AI model (Claude) that writes the answer. Anthropic acts as our service provider, doesn’t use the content to train its models and may keep it briefly for safety monitoring under its privacy policy.
- We don’t store conversations. Our server keeps only technical logs (time, size, errors, IP address) for up to 30 days for security. The app clears the conversation when you close the Guide.
Please don’t share sensitive information in the Guide. Its answers are general educational information and can be mistaken; they aren’t medical or professional advice.
Device permissions
Terra Montessori asks for no special permissions. It uses the internet only for the Guide.
Children’s privacy
Terra Montessori is designed for children and follows the US Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), GDPR and the UK Age Appropriate Design Code. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. There are no ads, no third-party analytics, no in-app purchases aimed at children, no chat between users and no links that take a child out of the app. If you think your child has sent us personal information, email info@nixvora.com and we’ll delete it.
Deleting data
Deleting Terra Montessori from a device removes everything the app has stored. Because we don’t keep Guide conversations, there is nothing else to delete, but you can always ask us to confirm or remove anything we may hold, such as support emails. See how to delete your data.
